Merry Christmas 2014

It's been a long time since my last blog...I've published my 1st book "For Love of the Land" on Amazon Kindle and Smashword. Just in the editing process of my 2nd book a mystery "Wicked She was Born." And in the process of taking a class on writing children's books. The hardest thing I have done so far.

I probably won't be on the blog again this year.....so HAPPY HOLIDAYS..see you in 2015.

Fall is here already!

Here it is Halloween coming up already. This year as been full of the most changes in my life so far. I published a book, moved after 3 years, obtained a roommate after 3 years, lost 35 pounds, got a dog after 14 years, its been very busy!:_)

Hey every one its 2014... no blogs for awhile. I have been writing and producing a play. That took lots of work, also in the process of moving to a space where I can write and create more jewelry.

I am hoping this will be a better year for all of us.  :-)

There is Glass in them there HILLS!!!

HEY, it has been awhile. I went yesterday with some friends to a old deserted place in Dripping Springs,Texas to look for pieces of glass. That is right glass!! This little gallery/plant/yard decoration store went out of business. They sold tons of colored glass in different sizes and colors. People use them in potted plants or yard decoration..... But they can be used carefully in jewelery.

So the 3 of us went there and it was like finding diamonds in the Arkansas Diamond Fields. I picked up all sizes and colors of glass,  dried gourds and some type of beautiful dried plants that looked like under water dried sea coral, so beautiful. And there was tons of barbed wire for outdoor decorations.

With all collected we left very happy campers....now to create.

Hey Everybody it is almost SPRING!!

I recently won a beautiful real pearl  bracelet by just entering a giveaway. So enter those giveaways, they really work. I have submitted a necklace, that had to be made out of trash,or recycled items. I submitted a Necklace called "Spring Garden". I made it out of plastic cups melted to look like flower petals, beads made out of real potatoes, old earrings 2 pair I never wore a chain, some extra beads, and some left over paper flowers from making a journal....I won't know until 3-19-12. Problem is, I submitted mine  there were no other necklaces in the running, then a lady submitted one that looks almost exactly like mine....GO FIGURE!!

I submitted three (3) necklaces for a Oscar Challenge, one was done with beautiful, gray pearls, glass stones, accented with a gray chain, and beautiful semi precious white, and off white stones.It is called GRAY BEAUTY.
The second is round in shape, and bead embroidered  with all kinds of bright colored beads, on a hand made chain with a ribbon tied to the chain, and in the center of the necklace is a antique china PENNY DOLL.
I call it BABY DOLL.

And the 3rd is a bib necklace with everything but the kitchen sink, done in colors of reds, copper, dark blues, and greens. It has beads, every size and shape, Wire thread forming flowers, in fact it is covered in flowers.

I designed my pieces after a famous costume jewelry designer in New York that has designed for the Oscars twice in his career. I loved his pieces, and hope at least one of my pieces win. But, so far only one other person has submitted a piece, and it was a hand embroidered eye in the middle of a circle, very cool...I don't know when I will know about that one...My computer is acting crazy, and I have been struggling with it. So, I haven't been on the usual 5-6 hours.

Dark and Stormy Nite....

I just finished making a pair of earrings, a bracelet, finished my earth shoes for a friend, made the final hanging piece for my necklace, and I am getting ready to hit the hay. I am too tired to do any more work this evening, a book sounds restful at this moment. 

State OF The ART BOUTIQUE at 6701 D Burnet Rd Austin,Texas

I went to a flea market today with a dear friend, and stopped into the State of the Art Boutique, to visit with Jude and met his artist friend Mike. They have something fun and interesting going on several times a month, so check them out. I will be teaching some classes, and putting my jewelry on display at the Boutique , also offering energy classes such as emotional tapping and meditation.

Looking forward to meeting other local artist to share and enjoy art in the community.

Christmas is over and we can start out with a fresh New Year, how wonderful. It has been a weird 2011, but we do try our best to keep AUSTIN WEIRD! Trying to finish my necklace "Secrets in the Garden" but it is not coming together the way I want just yet. I have so many pieces I need to finish, but I really take my time with each one to get the right feel of the finish on each one.


 The weather has been great here, so far, so good. I moved here for that reason so I hope it continues, we had 3 months of no rain, but getting it now. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays, take care.

CHRISTMAS EVE 2011

It looks like old Santa is getting ready to make his deliveries, the older a person gets the less excited they are it seems. I still love the Christmas lights, the music and the Church Services, other then that I don't get too excited.

Also, I have noticed that close friends, and family don't bother to keep up emails or call around that time, oh well makes more time for me to work on my art projects. I am getting ready to start sewing pillows for my Daughter's business, if they are good enough. SHE IS VERY PICKY!

Earthing Shoes/or Grounding Shoes

It's a rainy Wed night and I have been working on my friend's grounding shoes. Shoes that have magnets in the bottoms to balance and center her closer to the earth and nature. Thought I would have them finished by now. But I did finish another bead embroidery piece smaller then most of my work, it is called "Sisters Secrets in The Garden". It has tons of glass beads, a beautiful center piece of a miniature painting in the center, tiny leafs and off set colors to indicate flowers. I also started another piece it is an Indian Chief with a Totem on his head, it has varied colored beads, and feathers it will also have leather straps attached.

It's Freaky Friday Here in Austin,Texas

I just attempted to make a pair of (Grounding Shoes) if you know what that means. If not it means getting closer to the earth to absorb its energy. I love taking flip/flops apart and redesigning them and adding embellishments to them. They are a Christmas gift for a friend. And I added magnets to the inter soles.
 I have also been doing some bead embroidery necklaces of wolves, and western objects, long horn steers. I just learned how to bead embroidery and I have done I don't know how many pieces. I am like a few famous artist who love big huge pieces, I want to see it across the room. I also love to use odd color arrangements, it is almost like painting. Skeletons, bugs, lizards, anything, and everything goes.

I am hoping to get some pictures on here for everyone to see my latest creations. Take care, stay warm. Keep the High Vibration of the Universe.
